Road Vehicle Laboratory is located in building D, rooms D08c, D08d and is used for laboratory works for our department disciplines.

Study cycles

The Road Vehicle Laboratory serves the Bachelor cycle and the masters cycle for the following specializations:

- AAutomotive Engineering

- Transport and Traffic Engineering

- Machines and Installations for Agriculture and Food Industry

Equipment

Road Vehicle Laboratory it is composed of the latest equipment, namely:

- Test bed for suspension system

- Test bed for brakes system

- Test bed for steering system

- Bosch Gas Analyzer

Competences / Activities

- Testing and diagnosis of motor vehicles and their systems (transmission, steering system, brake system, suspension system and chassis, lighting and signaling)

- Determination of vehicle pollutants

- Monitoring of noise level

- Determine other environmental factors

Technical capabilities

- Stand testing the suspension and braking system of vehicles APF 110

- Maximum allowable axle loads on a 3000 daN. End-axis scale measured weight 2000 daN

- Engine 2 x M100 3 kW

- Gauge min/max 915/2015 mm

- Mass 400 kg. Measuring accuracy mass +/- 0.5 %

Technical capabilities

Adherence test (which proves effective suspension or the wear thereof) is achieved by measuring the mass acting on each wheel while plates (plates) stand on wheels that stand execute vibrations (upward-downward movements). The results of this test indicate the minimum weight range determined applying vibrations, compared to static mass on the wheel.

Infrastructure for Research and Development

Elevator (Space) with 4 columns with electro hydraulic drive system equipped with:

- Cutting platforms for spinning discs

- Leveling system that allows the elevator gliding in perfect position for making flat geometry wheels

- Combined safety system (mechanical, hydraulic and electric) that allows working safely

- Cabinet computer system equipped with software 4WD
